The Baucus health care reform plan looks like the hodge-podge system we now have, just more of it! To top it all off, he “didn’t have a price tag for the plan.” Amazing!
Here is a worthwhile test that any new health care reform plan should have to pass in order to be considered: Make quality health care available to all U.S. citizens while reducing overall health care outlays as a percentage of GDP.
We spend more in this country on health care than any other industrialized country, and have worse outcomes. We can do better, and we should not accept any new plan that does not dramatically streamline and improve the system.
