PNHP note: The following 1 1/2 minute video produced by The Associated Press and carried by USA Today shows about 50 doctors, medical students and nurses, along with a comparable number of senior citizens and other health care advocates, rallying in front of the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City where President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney were attending a black-tie dinner. The theme of the rally was “Don’t mess with Medicare,” and many of the activists, including PNHP members who were there, advocated for an improved Medicare for all. Among the featured speakers in the AP video, which was carried by many news outlets across the country, is Dr. Elizabeth Rosenthal of the NY Metro chapter of PNHP. Other news stories featured PNHP members Dr. Matt Anderson, Dr. Steve Auerbach, and medical students Andy Simmons and Lusha Liang, among others.
