Endorse the Physicians' Proposal

The current U.S. health care system is fraught with profiteering, mismanagement, corruption and crippling bureaucracy. In addition to putting patients at risk, this broken system dishonors the dedication and service of physicians and other health professionals.

The time for collective action has come. As the presidential election approaches, physicians nationwide can compel our elected officials to stop serving the powerful health insurance and pharmaceutical industries, and start shaping a coherent vision for national health care. It is possible to end uninsurance, lower costs, guarantee coverage, and provide better health for all Americans.

In the words of Margaret Meade, 'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world: Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.' In the coming months, we hope to add thousands of more physicians to our list of supporters. With our combined efforts, we can achieve true health care reform.
